11 de Octubre. La sociedad Hispanica gathering.

DATE FOR YOUR DIARY - OCTOBER 10

Dear Friend of the Society,

The Get Together held on September 19 was, as usual, well attended with over 20 enthusiastic lovers of Spanish practising the language. As usual, we were lucky enough to have some native speakers attending and one, Tony from Mexico, gave an interesting talk about "Mexico, past and present". We are very grateful to him as we are to anyone who volunteers to give a short talk on a topic of their choice. Please contact me if you would like to do this in a future meeting.

Thanks also go to Lennon, who always provides us with tasty snacks on the house, as well as a very comfortable and relaxing environment - a map giving the whereabouts of CultureClub is attached.

The next gathering will be held from 7.15 on Wednesday, October 11 and I hope many of you can make it. Come along in order to improve your spoken Spanish. If you are a native speaker then please come to help us in our attempts to speak your lovely language.

The project humorously intends to show the interpretations and misinterpretations which one is exposed when one is learning a new language, also questioning the idea of education.

The opening of the “Illustrated Spanish/English.English/Spanish dictionary”, a work in progress, will be held on 8th September from 8pm. at Kapok- B/F 9 Dragon Road, Tin Hau Temple Road, Tin Hau, Hong Kong. The exhibition runs from 8th until 23rd of September.
