From 14th February until 31st. March. Exhibition: Pasajero.
WHAT ISPASAJERO?
It is the Spanish word for passenger, but it alsomeans fleeting or ephemeral. This double sense is embodied in the journey through the Tokyo subway by a Spanish traveller, pasajero, riding trains, who is the beholder of transient daily life inspired by chance encounters.
Tokyo has the world’s largest rail system, 2,300 km of railway, 136 lines and more than 1,000 stations, flooded daily with a huge stream of 20 million passengers. The Spanish photographerXavier Comasspent weeks roaming this amazing underlying reality, moving randomly between lines and trains, armed with his camera.
Pasajeroemphasizes awareness of blank spaces, the ephemeral experience of life and its melancholic sense of beauty.
